Arsenal have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Lyon’s French International striker Karim Benzema.
Benzema has been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United since the January transfer window and are now looking to replace Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez who recently left the club, but The News of the World have claimed that Benzema is now also being targeted by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners boss is reportedly tracking the French International striker as a replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor, who is expected to join Italian giants AC Milan during the summer transfer period.
Arsenal have put a £25million price-tag on Adebayor, which means that Arsenal could easily place a £30million bid for Benzema, which may be enough to persuade the 21-year-old to leave the Stade Gerland this summer, but after the departure of striker Carlos Tevez from Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be willing to match that offer and he already has the funds available to seal the deal.
Despite the attention from the two Premier League clubs, Benzema has already stated that he would prefer to remain at Olympique Lyonnais next season, to help secure a place in the France national squad for the World Cup in South Africa next year.
But the club's owners have hinted that a bid of more than £30m would be enough to start talks, while Benzema is also believed to favour a move to Arsenal, who have a host of French speaking players at the club, to a transfer move to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan have all been linked with Benzema so, unless Arsenal secure a deal with AC Milan for Adebayor in the next few days, Manchester United - now flush from the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid – are the frontrunners to seal the transfer of the young French star.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed the strikers wish to stay at the club, but also revealed that a big money offer could sway things.
“Karim has said that he wants to stay another year at Lyon,” said Aulas to French daily L'Equipe. “But I think that Kaka or Ronaldo maybe imagined remaining with their respective clubs.
“There is a tsunami called Real Madrid which provokes reactions at Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
“So it is very complicated to say that he is non-transferable. It's obvious we want to keep him. There is more chance he'll be at Lyon next season than that he won't be.
“I won't hide from you the fact that he has been approached. For the moment, I managed to convince them not to go further.”
But, tellingly, Aulas has also recently said: “Nobody knows what is going to happen. What should we do if Manchester, who have a lot of cash to spend, want to sign Benzema?

Billy wingrove

BILLY Wingrove began learning his football freestyle skills as a child. Beginning with the standard keepie uppie skills in the local park, Wingrove would stay behind when all his friends had gone home, to practice some extravagant football skills that would impress his friends and family.

He began to study and copy some of the tricks shown on TV by Ronaldo, Romario and the rest of the Brazil squad in the famous Nike 'Airport' commercial.

Wingrove comes from a footballing family, but unlike his father, who played for Tottenham Hotspur and cousin who played for Arsenal, Billy preferred to use and express his skills as an individual instead of as part of a team, although his talents have still established him with local semi-professional sides.

As he grew older he learned more and more tricks and became part of the network of young football freestylers in the London area. In 2003, Wingrove entered the Nike freestyle competition in London Earl's Court, and out of 6,000 contestants, he reached the semi-finals. COCA COLA,O2 , Barclaycard, Disney and Sky Sports have all since used Wingrove for promotions or advertising.

Billy has performed his freestyle tricks and skills live on TV for Nickelodeon, Blue Peter and Central News as well as performing on BBC1'sA Question of Sport and Match of the Day.[1][2]

In 2005 Wingrove appeared in a KDDI TV commercial with Japanese footballer Shinji Ono. Shortly after this Wingrove appeared with Manchester United's Wayne Rooney for a Coca Cola promotion and was also featured with J-League stars in Japanese football magazine Footival. Wingrove's work has also been featured in the UK magazines FourFourTwo and Match.

Wingrove became the first football freestyler to be signed up as a professional "Football Freestyler" by a professional with his friend Fidan Morina from Kosovo club[3] when Premiership team Tottenham Hotspur signed him up. Billy displays and teaches his freestyle tricks and skills for Tottenham's coaching in the community schemes, corporate sponsors and on the pitch for half time and pre-match entertainment for Premiership games. He has also appeared as half time entertainment for England international matches.

when he arrived for the launch of new football shoes at a store. Beckham was in Milan to unveil the Adidas' new Predator PowerSwerve DB boot. Thousands of fans gathered around to catch a glimpse of their favourite star.

Beckham, 33 was wearing the AC Milan training top and generously signed autographs on football shirts, boots for his fans. The crowd has plastered 'I Love You Beckham' posters with kisses and hearts on the wall. The crowd stunned the soccer star, who is in town on-loan from LA Galaxy.

"It's fantastic. I did not expect so many people. Since I've arrived, it's been wonderful," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

"When I arrived, they told me that I was coming to Milan for publicity. Instead I came and I love playing in this team. Being in a club like this and the experience is so positive, not only inside but also outside," he added.

Liverpool F.C. was founded after a dispute between Everton and John Houlding, the leaseholder of Anfield and Everton director. Fundamental difference emerged in how the club should be run when the club assessed the purchase the whole of the Anfield site. Houlding was accused of motives for personal financial gain. Everton who had been playing at Anfield for eight years departed from Houlding and Anfield moving to a new stadium in Goodison Park.[2][3]Liverpool F.C. was founded by Houlding to play at the vacated Anfield. The English language word "football" is also applied to "gridiron football" (a name associated with the North American sports, especially American football and Canadian football), Australian football, Gaelic football, rugby football (rugby league and rugby union), and related games. Each of these codes (specific sets of rules, or the games defined by them) is referred to as "football".

Two teams of usually between 11 and 18 players; some variations that have fewer players (five or more per team) are also popular
a clearly defined area in which to play the game;
scoring goals and/or points, by moving the ball to an opposing team's end of the field and either into a goal area, or over a line;

Manchester United Football Club is an English football club, based at Old Trafford in Trafford, Greater Manchester, and is one of the most popular football clubs in the world.
